2019 has been a great year for gamers with titles such as Control, Death Stranding, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, The Outer Worlds, and more all vying for top spot as Game of the Year.
These games are not only fantastic playable experiences but are also uniquely stunning to look at. Remedy’s creepy action shooter Control is a master class in abstract design and turning the unfamiliar into the unsettling. It’s also one of the best looking games around when it comes to reflections and ray tracing tech. Both Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice present stunning vistas of completely different landscapes and beautifully detailed characters. For nostalgia hits, Resident Evil 2 presents familiar characters and worlds in gorgeous current renderings while Obsidian’s fresh new RPG The Outer Worlds brings us the most awe inspiring skyboxes in the universe.
